Honey-Glazed Herb Roasted Ham

This recipe highlights a balance of sweet and savory with a herbaceous touch. Perfect for beginners, it ensures juicy, tender meat with a beautifully caramelized glaze. You do not need a cured ham for this. Our Eremos Farm Ham Roast is freshly cut and ready for us in this beautiful recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 lb uncured ham roast

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp dried rosemary

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 325°F (163°C). Place a roasting rack inside a large roasting pan.

  2. Prepare the Ham: Pat the ham dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil all over it. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary in a small bowl, then massage this mixture into the ham evenly.

  3. Roast the Ham: Place the ham on the roasting rack, fat side up. Add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the pan to keep the ham moist during cooking. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil. Roast for 1 hour.

  4. Make the Glaze: While the ham roasts, combine honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and melted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth and warmed through.

  5. Glaze and Finish: After 1 hour, remove the foil and generously brush the ham with the glaze. Increase oven temperature to 375°F (190°C). Roast uncovered for another 30-45 minutes, basting with glaze every 10-15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).

  6. Rest and Serve: Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. Slice and serve.
